Alternatives to Violence Project

Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) started in prisons in the USA in 1975, and is now in communities, schools, colleges and conflict situations worldwide. Workshops use shared experiences of participants, interactive exercises, games and role playing to break down barriers that cause situations where injustice, prejudice, frustration and anger can lead to aggressive behavior and violence. It enables participants to deal with potentially violent situations in new and creative ways. Workshops are non-residential, run by trained facilitators and are experiential (not based on lectures).

WonHeart supports healthy choices. The Blosser Urban Garden in Santa Maria is open and ready with organic fruits and vegetables.
