Amanda Sherlock (Certified Grief Recovery Specialist) received an MA in Applied Psychology in 1988 from the University of Santa Monica, a private school specializing in programs in Psychology. After a divorce and subsequent death of her dog in 1992, Amanda participated in the Grief Recovery Methods 3-day personal workshop, which enabled her to move through these two losses and gave her tools for dealing with any future losses. Wanting to share this life-changing work with others, she completed the Grief Recovery® Certification Program in 1993, qualifying her to moderate this 8-week course.
Over the past 20 plus years, she has “walked the talk” of this program and continues to be in awe of its very simple but powerful tools. In that time she lost both her parents and has experienced many other losses of various types.
In 2019. she co-facilitated the Grief Recovery Method at Valley State Prison in Chowchilla, CA. This was the first prison in California to receive this education and more sessions are being planned in 2020.
